A World of Imagination

Hi, this is Phantom, and I’d like to tell the story of how I came to be a writer. It all started during quarantine. Sitting at home and doing nothing but desperately searching for some form of entertainment really does a number on you. Like many teens, shows, movies, social media, and video games are our main go-to for pleasure. Ironically, well, I ran out of those. So, I turned to books. First, it was the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. Then, it was Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland. Yet I was unable to find what I was truly searching for. That was when I found Webnovel, a domain where many aspiring authors publish their own ideas in the form of online books. Although they were not as sophisticated as the books published in publishing houses, I found them to be more compelling to read. But, one day, I though to myself: “Is there a story made just for me? Is there a world made just for me?” That was when I began writing. I went from self-taught to joining the creative writing club at school to even going to a writer’s workshop. As I continued writing and developing my works, I began to wonder what was truly making me write. Here is my answer: “When I sit down and open my laptop, what many people would say they see is a blank white screen. But what I see is completely different. I see mountains. I see rivers. I see valleys. I see plants. I see animals. I see people. I see cities. I see countries, kingdoms, empires! I see … a world of imagination.”
